Meet the Maker

Hey there! My name’s Jayesh Ranavaya, and I’m the creative mastermind (and occasional mad scientist) behind Ruptured FX. If you’re into hyper-realistic silicone masks and props that look like they’ve crawled straight out of a nightmare, you’re in the right place. But before I started sculpting monsters for a living, I was just a kid who probably watched Evil Dead and A Nightmare on Elm Street waayy too young.

While most kids were scared of Freddy Krueger, I was fascinated by how they turned Robert Englund into that burned-up dream demon. I wasn’t asking, “How do I make sure this guy doesn’t get me?” No, I was asking, “How did they make him?” That obsession with makeup effects, creatures, and gore got its hooks in me young and never let go. Instead of wanting to be a doctor or astronaut like normal kids, I wanted to be the person turning actors into terrifying creatures.

I started with drawings—pages and pages of monsters, demons, and weird creatures that probably made my teachers think I needed “extra support.” Then I discovered digital art and dove headfirst into designing my own gory nightmares on the computer. But something was missing. I wanted to make things you could touch. So, I grabbed some clay, made a mess, and started sculpting. That’s when it all clicked: bringing these freaky creations into the real world was where the magic (and the blood, sweat, and silicone) happened. Now, I use a mix of traditional sculpting and digital wizardry to create masks and props that look so real they might bite you.

Here’s the deal with my work: I’m obsessed with the details. If a mask doesn’t have the perfect skin texture, veins that look like they’re ready to pop, or a paint job that could make you do a double-take, it’s not leaving my workshop. I want every piece to feel like it’s alive—or at least like it just crawled out of a movie you weren’t old enough to watch. Whether it’s a bloodthirsty zombie or a terrifying demon, I pour everything I’ve got into making sure it’s detailed, durable, and drop-dead (or undead?) realistic.

But honestly? I’m just a big kid who never stopped loving monsters. Whether you’re a filmmaker, a haunted house designer, or just someone who wants to scare the absolute hell out of your friends, I’d love to share my passion with you. Let’s create something horrifyingly awesome together. Just don’t blame me if it gives you nightmares.
